Focused mainly on expanding and improving existing mechanics as opposed to adding new ones haphazardly, it aims to provide a fuller experience than any other official version of Minecraft.

BTA's two lead developers are [[User:Skydeckagogo|Skydeckagogo]] (better known as "Mak"), and [[User:Jonkadelic|jonkadelic]] (or "Jonk", for short), but in keeping in line with the Beta Minecraft Experience<sup>TM</sup>, its development is very much community-driven, especially in terms of things such as bug-testing, texture work and tweaking new additions to make sure they feel right.
Recently two newcomers have joined the contributor team, Logan and Bestsoft100.
