Minecraft Beta 1.7.6 was a major update to Main Page released on November 8, 2021, which adds seasons, new biomes, extends the world height, and much more.

Additions

Blocks

Trommel

• Allows the player to recycle junk materials like Dirt, Gravel, Sand and Soul Sand into more useful items such as Pebbles, Iron Nuggets, Gold Nuggets and more.
• Powered by fuel.

Marble

• A new decorative block made from smelting Limestone in a Blast Furnace.
• There are 5 variants:
  • Marble Brick.
  • Marble Brick Slabs.
  • Marble Brick Stairs.
  • Marble Pillar.
  • Marble Capstone.

Painted Planks

• Planks can now be dyed.
• Painted Planks can also be used to craft Painted Chests, Painted Wooden Fences, and Painted Wooden Fence Gates.

Slate

• A new decorative block made by smelting Stone in a Blast Furnace.
• Can be crafted into Slate Layers, which can be piled up and walked on.

Block of Redstone

• Crafted with 9 Redstone Dust.
• Permanently powered Redstone source.

Block of Coal

• Crafted with 8 Coal.
• Smelts 64 items in a Furnace or Blast Furnace.

Block of Nether Coal

• Crafted with 8 Nether Coal.
• Smelts 64 items in a Blast Furnace.

Dirt

• Generates in the Outback.

Dirt

• Generates in the Outback in veins on the surface.

Spinifex

• Generates like Tall Grass in the Outback.

Eucalyptus Log

• Generates in the Outback.

Eucalyptus Leaves

• Drops Eucalyptus Saplings on decay.

Eucalyptus Sapling

• Grows the Eucalyptus Tree when Bonemeal is used.

Cherry Log

• Generates in Seasonal Forests.

Cherry Leaves

• Has variants with Cherries or no Cherries.

Cherry Sapling

• Grows a Tree when Bonemeal is used.

Pumpkin

• New block, without the face.
• Previous Pumpkin block has been renamed to Carved Pumpkin.
• Generates randomly in certain biomes.

Shrub Leaves

• Drops Shrub Saplings on decay.

Shrub Sapling

• Grows a Shrub when Bonemeal is used.

Log

• Generates in Swamps.

Algae

• Generates on the surface of water in Swamp biomes.

Tinted Glass

• Crafted with two Glass and Olivine.
• A black variant of Glass that is transparent to players, but does not let light through.

Lamp

• Toggleable light block.
• Gives off a light level of 15.
• Can be turned on and off with Redstone.

Items

Quartz

• Pink mineral made by smelting Granite in a Blast Furnace.
• Produced by Sand in the Trommel.
• Used in crafting Quartz Blocks and Lamps.

Olivine

• Green gemstone made by smelting Basalt in a Blast Furnace.
• Produced by Gravel in the Trommel.
• Smelts 1 item in a Blast Furnace.
• Used in crafting Olivine Blocks.

Pebble

• Produced by any block in the Trommel.
• Can be thrown or shot out of a dispenser.
• Stacks to 16

Raw Iron Ore

• Produced by Rich Scorched Dirt in the Trommel.

Raw Gold Ore

• Produced by Rich Scorched Dirt in the Trommel.

Rotary Calendar

• Displays the current season.

Cherries

• Can be picked from Flowering Cherry Leaves.
• Restores Half a heart

Bucket of Ice Cream

• Restores 5 hearts.

World

Seasons

Spring

• Cherry Trees are pink and grow edible Cherries.
• Flowers and Tall Grass grow across the world.
• Crops grow twice as fast.
• More animals, fewer hostile mobs.

Summer

• Longer days, shorter nights.
• More-or-less the same as vanilla Minecraft.

Fall

• Trees turn an autumnal red.
• Leaf piles accumulate under trees.

Winter

• Trees turn brown and do not spawn Saplings (excluding Pine Trees).
• Crops grow half as fast.
• Shorter days, longer nights.
• More hostile mobs, fewer animals.
• Exposed flowers and tall grass die over time.

Biomes

Outback

• A red wasteland with Dirt, Spinifex and Eucalyptus Trees.

Meadow

• Flowery, rolling hills that spawn in cold climates. Great for building!

Boreal Forest

• A coniferous woodland with a variety of plants and flowers.

World Types

Extended Default

• Large biomes and large mountains. BTA's default world option.
• Ocean level is at Y=128, so the world is twice as tall and twice as deep as Beta 1.7.3.

Default

• Legacy default. Worlds from Minecraft Beta 1.7.5 and below will be set to this type. Maintains the old Beta 1.7.3 terrain generation.
• Ocean level is at Y=64, same as Beta 1.7.3.

Winter

• A frozen-over wonderland of permanent winter. A modern continuation of Minecraft Alpha's winter worlds.

Flooded

• Features a raised sea level, creating a vast ocean with island outposts to explore and conquer.

Flat

• A world of nothing but flat grass to build on. Best enjoyed in creative mode.

Hell

• An inhospitable wasteland of nothing but dirt, darkness, and lava oceans.

Woods

• An endless forest of densely-packed trees.

Paradise

• A bright, friendly land of endless day and endless spring.

Retro

• World generation ported from Minecraft Alpha 1.1.2_01, complete with neon green Retro Grass and Retro Leaves.

Gamemodes

Survival

• Default Minecraft gamemode. Resources must be acquired by digging, tools have durability, and the player can die.

Creative

• Resources are unlimited and can be acquired from the player's inventory, blocks break instantly, the player cannot die, and can fly and noclip through blocks.

Guidebook

• Provides a list of all the recipes in the game.
• Bound to R by default.
• Recipe items are revealed over time as they're discovered.
• All recipes are revealed automatically in the Creative gamemode.

• All biomes now generate twice as large and are more evenly distributed.

• Added Algae, which grows underneath Swamp Trees.
