A fence is a barrier block that cannot normally be jumped over. A player (but not mobs) can see through the openings in a fence.

Fences can be obtained by crafting.

Fences can be placed in the world. They have a collision box of 1.5 block in height, meaning it is not possible to jump over it by normal means.
