Biomes are the different environments that can be found in the worlds of Minecraft. Main Page includes some biomes from the base game, but most biomes and their mechanics have been revamped or added.
Default worlds consist of a blend of all the default biomes.

Default Biomes[edit | edit source]

Forest[edit | edit source]

A common biome which generates with oak trees and about a 20% chance of birch trees.

Occasionally generates pumpkins.

Fully affected by the seasons.

Namespaced ID: minecraft:overworld.forest

Seasonal Forest[edit | edit source]

Has about a 80% chance of generating cherry trees, instead of oak and birch trees.

Often generates mixed in with regular forests. Fully affected by the seasons.

Namespaced ID: minecraft:overworld.seasonal_forest

Rainforest[edit | edit source]

Temperate biome that generates with a dense canopy of oak trees, some shrubs and a lot of ferns.

Sugarcane generated in the rainforest will be significantly taller than in other biomes.

Will occasionally generate pumpkins.

It will not snow in the rainforest.
