Placing 8 snow layers in one place will turn into a block of snow.

Blocks of snow are found abundantly in glaciers, covering permafrost in the underground.

Mining[edit | edit source]
4 snowballs can be obtained by mining blocks of snow with any shovel. Mining without a shovel will drop nothing.
Melting[edit | edit source]
Unlike snow layers, blocks of snow do not melt when a light source is nearby, in a dry biome or when winter is not occuring.
