Soul sand is a Nether block which generates near lava oceans. It slows down mobs which walk on top of it.
Obtaining
Natural generation
Soul sand naturally generates in the Nether in beaches next to the Nether's vast lava oceans.
Usage
Soul sand slows down any mob which walks on top of it. Mobs will also sink into soul sand slightly, as it is not a full block. This means baskets can pick up items dropped on top of soul sand.
