1.7.7.0 Pre-1 is the first snapshot for BTA 1.7.7.0, released on March 5th, 2023, which adds in the first Underworld Overhaul features.
Additions
Mobs
- A beautiful new mob that appears at sunset and disappears at sunrise.
- If you craft a jar, you can capture fireflies in it.
- A spooky new mob that appears only in the coldest parts of the world, and will throw snowballs at you from a distance before closing in for the kill.
Biomes
- The glacier biome is a truly inhospitable icy wasteland where only the bravest of explorers dare to tread.
Changes
Better paintings
- Paintings are now more user-friendly, with the ability to select which painting is placed when you right-click. We've also added a whole bunch of new ones!
Better options
- The options menu has been completely redesigned, making it much easier to find what you're looking for.
Sign backgrounds
- Ever felt like you weren't being understood? These new sign backgrounds let you communicate more clearly than ever before. Signs can also be dyed.
Better silk touch
- We know silk touch was absolutely busted in previous versions, so we've rewritten the whole block breaking system to allow for much more consistent behaviour for silk touch, block picking, and any other kind of interaction.
Tooltip styles
- Ever wanted to customise your tooltips? Now you can!
More volume sliders
- The game now has a plethora of volume sliders, allowing you to turn off those pesky cow sounds once and for all.
Translation support
- Spelet stöder nu flera öve- er, the game now supports different languages, which can be installed in the same manner as texture packs.
Mob variants
- Your old friends just got a whole host of new looks.
Modern and slim skins
- Speaking of new looks, you can now rock your player skin in all its glory, with thin arms and body layer support.
More helpful wolves
- Wolves will seek out items on the ground and bring them back to you. What good doggos!
Color correction
- The game will now slightly adjust its colour levels depending on the current environment; for example, the Nether now glows a sinister red.
Placeable pebbles
- Everyone's favourite handheld projectile can now be placed on the ground to make a nice stone path.
Better season appearance
- Season colours have been completely revamped to be much more varied and cheerful.
Discord Rich Presence
- Now you can flex how many hours you've been playing BTA today to all your friends.
Better chests
- Chests now behave more like modern Minecraft, and can be placed next to each other.
Inventory improvements
- You can now click and drag items around like in modern Minecraft. How convenient!
Better ore textures
- Ore textures have had their appearances tweaked to be more visible, especially basalt coal ore and granite iron ore.
Raw ores
- Now instead of every ore dropping their regular stone variant, they drop raw ores. Goodbye inventory clutter!
More uses for steel
- You can now craft steel shears and steel fire strikers, which work exactly the same as their iron variants but last way longer.
Better logs
- Logs can now be placed in any direction you feel like, except diagonally.
Better photo mode
- You can now pan and rotate freely in photo mode. It should also be a lot smoother overall.
Upside-down stairs
- Now you can place your favourite building block upside-down.
Blocks
- These new decoration blocks let you mark your territory, and can be drawn on using dyes. They can also be right-clicked while holding a map to mark its position.
- The new mud block falls when wet, but not when dry.
- This handy new block lets you catch items that fall to the ground without risking them despawning.
- These new climbable fences lend a cool industrial look to any build.
- Found in the glacier biome, this new stone type will send a chill through your spine.
- Pretty self explanatory - you can now make trapdoors out of glass.
Items/Armor
- Found only in the coldest labyrinths, this fancy new footwear lets you glide across the ice at unparalleled speeds.
World Generation/Weather
Aurora Borealis
- At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, localized entirely within your Minecraft world?!
Rolling rivers
- The world generation now has not one but two different kinds of rivers, allowing you to go further by boat than ever before!
Swampier swamps
- Swamps now feature pools of stagnant water, as well as new mud blocks coating the surface. Algae also now change colour depending on the season.
Floating Islands
- There's a new Floating Islands world type, which should hopefully be a lot of fun.
Wind
- The game now features a dynamic wind system that affects cloud direction, falling leaves, and flags.
