Natural generation[edit | edit source]

Coal ore deposits can generate underground, replacing stone, basalt, limestone and granite. Coal ore can also be found uncovered in caves and mountains.

Mining[edit | edit source]

Coal can be obtained by mining coal ore with any pickaxe. If mined without a pickaxe, it drops nothing. If mined with a golden pickaxe, it drops itself.
