Netherrack is a frail block found abundantly in the Nether. Fire lit on top of netherrack burns indefinitely.
Obtaining[edit | edit source]
Netherrack can be obtained by mining it with any pickaxe. If mined without a pickaxe, it drops nothing.

Natural generation[edit | edit source]
Netherrack is the most abundant block in the Nether, as it generates at almost any Y-coordinate.
Usage[edit | edit source]
Netherrack is commonly used as a temporary building block because of its abundance and softness.
When the top of netherrack is lit on fire, the fire burns indefinitely until put out.
Note blocks[edit | edit source]
Netherrack can be placed under note blocks to produce "bass drum" sound.
