A mob spawner is a block that will summon mobs within a radius of the block. The player can obtain the deactivated mob spawner by mining a mob spawner using a golden pickaxe.
Obtaining
To obtain the spawner block, the player must use a golden pickaxe which will drop the spawner block.
Natural generation
Mob spawners can be found in dungeons and labyrinth.
Trivia
When mining a spawner, it will also drop items of the spawner's corresponding mob's drops.
