Obtaining Edit

Natural generation Edit

Dirt is one of the most abundant blocks in the Overworld, found underneath layers of grass blocks in the majority of biomes. Dirt appears in deposits underground that replaces stone, basalt, granite and limestone.

Post-generation Edit

Dehydrated farmland can turn into dirt if mobs or the player without sneaking or wearing leather boots step onto farmland or if a block is placed above it or is not within range of water.

Dirt paths immediately turn into dirt when a block is placed above it, while grass blocks turn into dirt after some time when a block is placed above it.

Usage Edit

Trommeling Edit

Item Amount Chance
Pebble 1-2 60.2%
Clay 1-4 24%
Flint 1-2 12%
Sulphur 1 2.4%
Raw Iron Ore 1-2 0.6%
Olivine 1 0.3%
Quartz 1 0.3%

Farming Edit

Dirt has the ability to grow saplings, sugarcane, and mushrooms under specific conditions.

Using a hoe on dirt turns it into farmland, allowing wheat seeds to be planted on it.

Dirt path Edit

Using a shovel on dirt turns it into a dirt path.

Grass spreading Edit

Grass can spread into adjacent dirt blocks at random intervals if exposed to a light level of at least 4.
