Slabs

  • Notch's old slabs have undergone a complete rewrite, now supporting more blocks, improving behavior, and adding the ability to be placed upside down.
  • Brick slabs!
  • Slabs can now be placed on slabs without the block above being empty.

Pistons

Dirt Path

Moss

  • Nerfed moss spreading.

Bookshelf

Items[edit | edit source]

Hand Cannon

  • Added.
  • What happens when you fire a pellet packed with gunpowder out of a high-powered slingshot? At long last, we have an answer.

Quiver

  • Added.
  • These extremely rare items provide a seemingly bottomless supply of arrows.

  • Channel your inner Robin Hood with these new projectiles that can fire right through enemies.

Cloth

Chainmail Armor

  • Deep in the heart of labyrinths, the boldest players will be able to find chainmail gear, which has the unique property of being repairable.

Leather Boots

All doors

  • Can now be stacked to 64!

Axes

  • Axes break leaves fast as lightning! Good for cutting down those pesky big trees.

Boat

  • Better boats! Tougher and more controllable boats for getting around the world easier.

Mobs[edit | edit source]

Armored Zombie

  • Added.
  • These fearsome opponents, clad in rusted chainmail, will prove a challenging fight for even the most prepared players.

World[edit | edit source]

Labyrinth

  • Added.
  • These sprawling dungeons feature greater challenge in exchange for unbelievable treasures.

  • Slimy caves! Below a certain level, slime chunks will be literally dripping with ooze to help identify them more easily.
  • Re-worked monster spawning! Hostile spawning light level is now tied to difficulty, with them spawning much more frequently at night on hard and normal. They also spawn at a lower light level in general (max 4 instead of 8).

Miscellaneous Changes[edit | edit source]

  • Bigger portals! Nether portals can now be as big (or as small) as you like.
  • Skins! Flex your cool unique skin you paid some stranger $5 to make.
  • Shift click! It's now possible to transfer fuel and items into furnaces by shift-clicking, as well as equipping armor via the same method.
  • HD textures! You can now use 32x32 textures and beyond, so you can finally port that texture pack you like without the bricks being on fire.
  • New splashes! The game now features over 100 community-written splashes on the main menu.

Bug Fixes[edit | edit source]

  • Ore overlays and dirt paths now render properly in old lighting.
  • Bit depth fix.
