Minecraft Beta 1.7.4_01 is the first major version of Main Page, released on July 20, 2021.

The update adds blast furnaces, mesh blocks, spike traps, among other major features.

Basalt

• Added.
• Stone variant that can be found deep underground.
• Drops cobbled basalt when harvested.

Cobbled Basalt

• Added.
• A cobblestone variant acquired from mining basalt.

Granite

• Added.
• Stone variant that can be found in parts of the world.
• Drops cobbled granite when harvested.

Cobbled Granite

• Added.
• A cobblestone variant acquired from mining granite.

Limestone

• Added.
• Stone variant that can be found in parts of the world.
• Drops cobbled limestone when harvested.

Cobbled Limestone

• A cobblestone variant acquired from mining limestone.

Mossy Stone

• Added.
• A variant of stone that spreads to nearby blocks in the darkness.

Stone Bricks

• Brick variant of stone. Used for decoration.

Sandstone Bricks

Gold Bricks

Lapis Lazuli Bricks

Dirt Path

• Added.
• A block created by right-clicking grass with a shovel.

Blast Furnace

• Added.
• A new utility block used to smelt items at twice the speed of a regular furnace.
• Used to smelt iron ingots into steel ingots.
• Only accepts nether coal as a fuel.

Block of Steel

• Added.
• A compact block of steel ingots.

Nether Coal Ore

• Added.
• An ore exclusive to the Nether. Drops Nether Coal when mined.

Spike Trap

• Added.
• A block that damages mobs and players that step on it.
• Can be toggled with a redstone signal.

Mesh Block

• Added.
• A block that allows dropped items to pass through.

Wet Sponge

• Added.
• A block that can generate on the ocean floor.
• Can be dehydrated in a furnace.

Sponge

• Renamed to dry sponge.
• Can now soak water, as it used to during classic.
• Rehydrates after use.

Cobblestone Pressure Plate

• Added.
• A pressure plate variant of cobblestone. Activates when a player is standing on it.

Fences

• Can connect to wooden blocks.
• Can be placed on any surface, from the bottom and sides of blocks.
• Pressure plates can be placed on it.

Stairs

• Stairs now drop themselves instead of their respective block.

• Some blocks can be mined efficiently with the right tools.

Items

Nether Coal

• Added.
• A new fuel source used for the furnace and blast furnace.
• Can smelt much more items than regular coal.

Steel

• Added.
• A durable material made by blasting iron ingots in a blast furnace.
• Used for crafting steel tools, weapons, armor and blocks of steel.

Steel Armor

• Added.
• A new set of armor involving steel ingots.
• Has the highest durability out of all other armor tiers.

Steel tools and weapons

• Added.
• A new set of tools and weapons involving steel ingots.
• Has the highest durability out of all other tools, but mines only as fast as iron tools.

Diamond Tools

• Have slightly less durability, but now as efficient as gold tools.

• Some items are no longer enlarged when dropped.

Bug Fixes

• Changed the download server to a working proxy, so all classic sounds will work properly again.

• Fixed outdated login authentication. Servers will no longer need to be in offline mode for players to log in, but that also means unauthenticated accounts can no longer connect to servers.
